Beloved Stafford Stake Family,
Two thousand years ago an Angel spoke words that forever changed the world! To the precious women who went to Jesus’ sepulcher “very early in the morning” (Luke 24:1), an Angel stated: “Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen” (Luke 24:5-6). On this beautiful Easter morning, we emphatically and triumphantly raise our voices in affirming that Jesus is Risen!
Jesus is our Lord, Savior, and Redeemer. These are frequently used words that have profound meaning.
Lord: we acknowledge Him as our leader and whom we follow.
Savior: He saves us. He is with us in our trials, even if the answer is not what we want, as was His case in the Garden of Gethsemane where the Father’s will and not His was done.
Redeemer: He paid a price for us we could not pay on our own.
We pray for you. We love you. We sustain you. We pray that you are receiving answers to your questions and the worries of your soul during General Conference this weekend. We have in like manner received answers, some of which were not the ones anticipated. But we acknowledge the hand of the Lord and follow Him with faith. As our dear Prophet, President Dallin H. Oaks stated yesterday, “Jesus Christ is the Head of this Church.”
God bless each of you on this glorious day of Easter and always.
Lovingly,
The Stafford Stake Presidency
